The International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC) plenary is an annual event that brings together stakeholders in the submarine cable industry to discuss challenges, innovations, and developments in the sector. The plenary includes presentations from experts on topics such as submarine cable faults, design against risks, remote sensing for route optimization, and regulatory landscapes. This year’s plenary featured case studies on cable faults, risk assessments for anchor hooking, and the use of remote sensing technologies to improve submarine cable route planning. Additionally, updates were provided from regional cable protection committees, and there was a focus on sustainability efforts in the industry through the SubOptic Association. The plenary also serves as a platform for collaboration among governments, industry representatives, and academia to address legal and regulatory challenges in submarine cable governance. The 2025 ICPC Plenary will take place in Montréal, Canada.

5th Annual Subsea Cable Installation, Asset Management & Reliability Forum brings together key experts from the wind power community globally to discuss the current challenges in continuous risk assessment for cables, cable burial, route optimization, cost reduction, cable repairs, operation and maintenance, and life extension to identify best practices.
